Final day of the tournament. Most of the
rounds good with a 33 from Braam and 32 from
John. Our average has improved but not good
enough. Congrats to Bennie Raubenheimer on
the best S/Cape score. Flats Huisamen won
1st prize in the Super 6, a driver and set
of irons. A special thanks to the Free State
Nomads, especially to Herman Richard Braam
for a great tournament. See you all in
Durban 2009. |

Day 5 of the tournament. Livers are starting
to suffer big time. Golf not so good today
but Bennie and Terry the Turk put in great
rounds. It is of pity that Mike Hargreaves
has had to withdraw from the tournament as
Barbara is pretty ill at the moment. Barbs,
our thoughts are with you, and wish you a
speedy recovery. Mike, we support your
withdrawel, as Barbara is more important
than two rounds of golf. Only prize winner
today is Graham Williams in the drawn
fourball. The computer calculates us in 11th
on 28,90 average, but my spreadsheet
calculates at 29,13 which is closer to 7th. |

Day 4 of the tournament. Over the halfway
stage and a couple of guys put in solid 3rd
rounds, namely Costas 34, Graham & Braam 33,
Les & Terry 32. No prizes won except Mario
Jonker won R750 on the Vans Hareem Draw.
Computer says we are 10th on 29,08, but my
calculations are 29,37. We will query. |

Day 3 of the tournament. The morning round
was painfully slow and it took 5h30 to
complete. I feel for the guys playing in the
afternoon, as I am sure they will not finish
in time. However this is not an excuse for
me to crash once again on 27pts. I hope it
does not affect the side. Our captain and
Braam put in
a solid round Gerry Ham is our leader
at the halfway stage. ---- Watch this space
tomorrow to see winners and standings. |

Day 2 of nationals. Plenty of sore heads
after last night. Today is the day that the
Stilbaai brigade invade Schoeman Park. View
the results to see how they fare, fair to
middelling. Gerry Ham had a great round..
Piet Meyer was in the best playing fourball,
and Hugo Otto won the Bells ticket draw.
S/Cape standing in the Bert Hunt is 3rd.
Other highlights were 2 holes-in-one, one of
which was achieved by E/Cape past captain,
Dave Pearson. |

Well, the drinking has begun, the golf has
started, and the "pinkies" have got onto a
good start, except for the 2 flat tyres,
Flats Huisamen & John Richards. But we will
peak when needed. Congrats to Costas
Polydorou on his 36pts and to the rest of
the side. The Nationals program has crashed
and we cannot determine who is in the lead,
but I think it is us. No prizes won by us
today, but watch this space............... |

our national chairman, Glen Dalton is handed
over the Schoeman Park Golf Course. Flags
are raised, and the 43rd Nationals begins.
The picture on the right shows our captain Les Marais raising our
"Pinkie".
